My dear friends! This season has been incredible sweet to me. I’m well into my interviewing practice and in conversation with a number of parents for my parenthood project AND I recently had the honor of writing for Ben Greene’s Good Queer News.
All to say, the creative muses are moving. I’m cooking up a piece that I am quite excited about. But also… I’m travelling right now! While I lean into the slow and sticky spirit of summer and the adventures of vacation time, I’ll be less attentive to my Substack.
But I couldn’t resist popping in with the briefest hello and a quick summary of my favorite literary sites thus far!
My travels have brought me to the tender and green lands of Ireland. Here the respect for books is nurtured and the bookstores are abundant. I’ve only been here four days but have collected four new books. The ones I bring back with me are only a fraction of the treasures that tempted to overrun my luggage load. The chisen incluse: a book on Irish seasons and folklore, a zine on dying fibers using plants and organic materials, and two collections of poetry.
I’ll try not to collect too many more. No promises. In the meantime, I’ll continue to let my imagination simmer and stew. I promise I’m seasoning up some delightful words for you. And I’ll also be “busy” enjoying more than one cup of tea.
Excuse any typos. I typed this whole piece on a small screen with smaller thumbs.
